Our Position on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Young Performers

At Youngn's, the protection of our clients' rights and wellbeing is our highest priority.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) within the entertainment industry is developing rapidly, particularly in relation to performers' image rights, voice, likeness, and digital replication. As this area of law and industry practice continues to evolve, we believe that young performers deserve the highest level of protection.

Until there is clear and established industry guidance, including a settled approach to AI and children's image rights, we will not recommend or agree to contracts for performers under the age of 18 that contain AI-related usage clauses unless those clauses have been fully reviewed and are considered appropriate for the client's interests.

Where appropriate, we actively seek to negotiate contractual protections that clearly define, limit, or exclude the use of AI-generated reproductions, digital replicas, voice cloning, and other forms of synthetic media involving our clients. Our aim is to ensure that any use of a performer's image, voice, or likeness is transparent, fair, and subject to informed agreement.

We will continue to monitor developments within the industry and take guidance from recognised professional bodies, including Equity, as best practice and contractual standards continue to evolve. Our commitment is to act in the best interests of every performer we represent, with particular care for children and young people.
